A Child’s Prayer For Victory Over Fear & Darkness
Kingdom Ministries Is your child dealing with fears? Here is a simple prayer you can teach them to pray.
Here’s an example of the kind of prayer you can teach your children or have them read when they feel afraid or believe there is something they’ve seen, heard, or felt that scares them (even if no one else does! And, please don’t just turn on the lights, look under the bed or in the closet and say there’s nothing there until you test it in prayer!) The following provides one example of the kind of prayer and vocabulary that can help them test and resolve a potential influence of evil. It utilizes characteristics of biblical prayer (to Jesus and with Scripture) as well as the authority Jesus has given to every believer (even little ones) over fear, evil and “all the power of the enemy” (Lk. 10:19; Mt. 16:19).
An Example Prayer:
Jesus’ name, if there is any bad, wrong, or scary thing that is bothering me, then, in Jesus’ Name, I tell you that you can’t stay with me. Even if I can’t see you, Jesus sees you. So, if you are God’s enemy, you are my enemy and I tell you to do exactly what the Lord Jesus Christ tells you to do now. Because Jesus lives in me, I belong to Him and He will protect me. The Bible says He will protect me because He loves me and He will command His angels to help me. So, I tell you to leave me alone because Jesus has given me His power over you. In the Name of Jesus you must also take away any bad thoughts or feelings because they do not come from the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says Jesus has given me His mind of power and love. He says I don’t have to have bad or scary thoughts. So now I command you to leave, and tell you that you must stop every bad thing you’re doing and go to Jesus for punishment. You are the loser and I refuse to listen to you or be afraid of you, because Jesus has given me the power to silence you and send you away. So in the name of Jesus, I tell you to GO NOW.
Jesus, I ask you to be with me right now and help me believe your truth and in your power. If you want me to know anything that is going on inside me or around me that will help me, I ask that you will let me know and show or tell me what to do about it. Jesus, I thank you for being my protector right now. In Your Name, Amen.
